Instagram - week five

Here's another peak into what I've been up to the past week, via the wonderful world of instagram.

I found this at the library last Sunday when I was dropping off some things - I'm looking forward to going to this fair next Sunday. Indonesia is on my list of countries I want to visit (but let's be honest - there's not many countries that aren't on my list!).

I go to an woman's only gym and quite often we get freebies at the gym - like sample sized beauty products. I picked this up on Monday, but then was disappointed to find its anti-dandruff shampoo.

I spent some of the vouchers Rich's Mum and Dad gave me for my birthday and bought a new blue lace dress at lunchtime on Monday.

This week I got another avon haul - including LOTS of freebies. I also just ordered the cookie cutters to make this cookie Christmas tree.

This is a photo of me hemming a 1970's frock - so I can wear it to work the next day.

Here's a mirror shot of me in the 1970's frock that was this week's Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge.

This week I did more stamping - so much more stamping!

Orange tights and white shoes (more of Wednesday wardrobe challenge).

It was a very busy week work wise - so one night I just ended up having vegemite on toast for dinner!

Exciting mail day this week - my Mum send Rich's birthday present down to us and also sent me a whole bunch of fabric she has bought recently op-shopping.

I caught up with Emi for a drink on Thursday night at Mulberry Garden - a restaurant near our apartment.

I worn this creepy girl necklace to work on Friday - I bought it from the Rose Street Markets in Melbourne a couple of years ago.

On Saturday Emi and I went to the Steampunk Exhibition at Thistle Hall - here's a few pictures I took whilst waiting for her.

I helped Emi set up her stall at Mighty Mighty markets on Saturday - here's a few pictures of her stall. I love the jars filled with lollies *rawr*.

Just some glitter on the floor at Mightly Mighty Markets - yah for glitter!

Rich and I went to see the the Wellington Phoenix play last night, it was Freezing cold, but at least we won 2-0 (we played Sydney FC).

This ones a bit exciting - these are the approximate dates for my trip to the USA next year! I'm booking my tickets officially tomorrow!

Emi gave me my late birthday presents this week - a cute bento set and a narwhal arigumi that she made especially for me!

I had my hair done this week - hairdressers fell they must always make my hair SUPER straight - I'm not so crazy about it.

One of the many film posters in our apartment - we bought this one whilst we were living in Korea so its in Hanguel (and some English).

Finally today was an absolute stunner of a day - so Rich and I spent much of the day at the waterfront.

Weekend Fun times

I hope you've all had a super fun weekend, mine has been pretty amazing! I had my hair cut and coloured and got new green extensions, had lunch with Ria and another friend Alice and then Emi and I went to a belly dance class with Wellington Pink Ladies which was heaps of fun - I used to do belly dance YEARS ago and the class made me seriously consider if I should go back to it.

Finally we rounded off the evening with a dinner with our friend Ross and we watched "The Grey"  which was really good as well! I'd recommend it - the scenery in Alaska was so beautiful (at times, other times it was incredibly bleak!).

Today was a stunner of a day and in the morning Rich and picked up a couple of bagels and headed out to Otari-Wilton Bush to eat some lunch in the sunshine and have a walk.

Made-by-me May has been pretty well, but I am now coming to the conclusion I really need to make more things to wear! I was hoping to make something this weekend but I was just so busy. I must try and get started on a project this week.

But I did at least try to adjust my maxi frock that I made to wear in Asia at the start of the year to the Wellington Autumn. I'm not sure if I quite pulled this look off though - again I think the shoes look a little weird. What do you guys think? I'm still a little unconvinced I can wear this dress in the cooler Wellington weather!

Hope you all had a super weekend xoxo

Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge - Fabulous Shoes

Today was my first day back at work after my holiday away (don't fear - there are still many more holiday posts to come and lots of pretty photos) so it was a little hard to get organised/inspired for wardrobe challenge this morning.
The challenge was fabulous shoes, I was going to wear my gold heels that I picked up from and Opportunity for Animals in Newton then I remembered that I have a stand up desk at work and we moved offices whilst I was away and now I have to walk up a hill to get to work - which isn't that appealing in heels. Instead I wore my much loved but little worn animal print ballerina flats - I don't know why I don't wear these more often. I decided to wear some of the new accessories I bought whilst I was overseas today - a "cafe scene" necklace from Singapore and a Hello Kitty Watch from Malaysia.I also got my hair cut and coloured whilst I was in Singapore - grand total of $68 dollars, I won't tell you what I normally spend on a haircut but its a lot more than $68 dollars. However I couldn't get my extensions done, I tried about three different places but they seem to do extensions differently in Singapore to the way my hairdresser does them here in New Zealand. I am hoping to get them changed soon though.
OUTFIT DEETS:
Shoes - The Warehouse
Tights & Cardi - Glassons
Skirt - Op Shopped - Hospice Shop, Kilbirnie
Top - From a friends wardrobe clear out

The one thing that did make going back to work that little bit easier was receiving this in the mail this morning (all my personal mail goes to work).
Sorry the photo isn't the best! Before Christmas I ordered this zombie brain mould so Rich and I could have zombie brains for dessert on Christmas day - but the company I bought it on said they needed to put it on backorder. It didn't arrived for Christmas and to be honest the backorder took so long I kind of forgot about it. I am looking forward to making zombie brain jelly for dessert this weekend - hurrah!

New Hair - Pink!

The wearing of glasses continues, I can't wait till next Friday, cross your fingers that I will be able to get back into wearing contacts by then.

Today I went to the hairdressers, I wasn't sure what colour I wanted for my extensions when I went in but I decided on magenta. What do you all think?

New Season, New Colour

It's finally September which means it is officially spring! I am pretty happy about all this, although I can't complain too much about the winter we have had, as overall its been especially mild this year.

However with the arrival of spring and my upcoming trip to Melbourne I decided it was time to say farewell to the green extensions and get something new for the new season.

I decided whilst I was at my salon this time I would take a couple of photos - I have been going to Wildilocks on Cuba Street since the start of the year and its such a great salon. They also sell clothes and accessories. Here's a wee shot of the salon from my chair out to the front window.

This visit they had added some of these "mounted heads" to the salon, complete with Mexican "day of the dead" style make-up. I liked them a whole lot, this is the lady that looked over me whilst I was having my hair done.
Here's what synthetic hair extensions look like before they are attached to someone's hair. I decided I wanted blue again this time, but a sky blue/turquoise rather than the electric blue I had last time. Although the hairdressers didn't have quite the colour I wanted, in the end I decided a blend of these two colours would work out just fine.

Here's the final result of my Saturday trip to the hairdressers - blue hair extensions! I like them rather a lot.
