Instagram - Week Eight

It's time for another sneak peak into a week in my life via the wonderful world of instagram.

Day 6 of 13 Days of Halloween - store bought Hello Kitty goodies and a crochet "droog" Hello Kitty (I love Clockwork Orange)

In the dentist waiting room - at least the view is good!
13 Days of Halloween - Day 7 - Rich's Day. A handmade collage of a robot playing football (two of Rich's favourite things) and white chocolate (one of Rich's favourites)

A schedule for the Brownie camp I'm volunteering at this weekend - I'll be helping with craft related things.
One of my work friends gave me this sparkly diary - fancy.
13 Days of Halloween - Day 8 - Creepy Fabric image, so much hard work has gone into this. Incredible.

I had a big meeting last Friday - red is my power colour!
13 Day of Halloween Swap - Day 9 - A day of chocolate and lollies, including a chocolate face mask.

I was feeling a bit down this last week - so I bought myself some new, fancy shoes.
13 Day of Halloween Swap - Day 10 - A hand painted bat umbrella.

Rich and I ate our lunch in Civic Square on Sunday - this was our view.
Some art on a building in Wigan Street, Wellington. It's pretty rad.
Spiderweb nails - Unfortunately they didn't last long (they were stick on ones) - but they did look pretty rad whilst they lasted.
13 Days of Halloween Swap - Day 9 - Lots of fun craft supplies.

Last night I went to watch Jurassic Park on the big screen, of all the classic I've seen on the big screen this year this has been the best. I think I appreciated it  lot more now than I did when I was 13.
13 Day of Halloween - Day 12 - A tote bag decorated with a cute bat.

Finally - my raisins at work today had some words of wisdom.

Lukah's Birthday Quilt

I'm actually a pretty terrible Aunt - I wrote my nephew Lukah's birthday in my calendar on the wrong date which means his birthday present is a few days late.

This year Lukah is turning five and I'm sure that lots of people will buy him school related things (I already know he's received a Ben 10 school bag) so I decided to make him a wee TV/Movie quilt.
I decided to make a kind of "farm themed" TV quilt as Lukah does like spending lots of time at my Mum and Dad's place on the farm and my brother is a farm worker so the farm is a big part of his life.
I bought this farm fabric specifically for the quilt - its kind of cute and cartoon like - I did want to get one that mostly had cows as the region my family farms is primarily a dairy region. But I couldn't find anything cute and cow specific - I think I was maybe being a little TOO specific wanting cute cow cartoon fabric!
I also added a square of fabric left over from my "horsing about dress" as it seemed to work in pretty well with the whole farm theme.
I really wanted an earthy green for the fleece for the backing fabric - however, its coming into summer here and there wasn't a huge amount fleece at my local fabric store. So instead I chose this almost fluro green - hopefully Lukah likes bright colours as much as I do.

This wee quilt is off to its new home with Lukah in Taranaki tomorrow - I really hope he likes it.

Saturday Fun times: Wind and High Tea

The last week has been rather tiring - so I was exciting to catch up with some fabulous friends today and just relax. Some time ago Jess, Celia, Katrina and I had decided to meet up at Soi at Evans Bay for High Tea.

Evans Bay is about an hour or so walk from our apartment in the city and despite my lovely friends offering to drive me to the restaurant, I decided to walk out there. It was a pretty windy day, but it was still a pretty good walk - I kind of love days like this when the sky is overcast likes this.

When we arrived at the restaurant - we were given a tray of tea and were able to choose which tea we would like. When you chose the type of tea you wanted, all you had to do was pop that into your teapot and the staff would come around with hot water to make your tea.
Here's a selection of the goodies we had at our High Tea - at this particular high tea there was a lot of sweet things. Which I was pretty happy about as I have a HUGE sweet tooth - the mini pavlova were amazing.

Fun times with fabulous friends!

Jess and I are both rocking florals today!

A couple of photos inside the restaurant - this restaurant is on a wharf so you can watch the boats sail by which is pretty rad.

I hope you've all had a super weekend so far xoxo

Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge: Barbarella Goes Back to the Future

So it seems that the regular Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge is back on track - today's challenge was pink and blue.

I could have done that challenge, I have pink and I have blue, I could have done that challenge pretty easily.

But I decided to stick with my original plan, which was to tackle a challenge from Sarah, namely "Barbarella goes back to the future".

However, a bikini isn't really office wear, so my look is more "Barbarella - Public Servant".
I thought the bronze pleather skirt and suede look boots are a little bit Barbarella.
I also thought the animal print tights are a little Barbarella.

Another day wearing fancy accessories made by fancy friends.
I had my smile fixed today - my filling is all repaired. Just as well it was pay day today!
Rich calls this my "Tina Turner" skirt - I think its rad.

So do I pass as Barbarella - Queen of public servants? It's not quite as glamorous as being the Queen of the galaxy I guess.

Outfit Deets:

Boots - Avon
Tights - Equipt
Skirt & Cardi - Glassons
Top - From a friend's wardrobe clear out
Necklace - Made by Meg
Brooch - Made by my friend Grace
