Instagram - week five

Here's another peak into what I've been up to the past week, via the wonderful world of instagram.

I found this at the library last Sunday when I was dropping off some things - I'm looking forward to going to this fair next Sunday. Indonesia is on my list of countries I want to visit (but let's be honest - there's not many countries that aren't on my list!).

I go to an woman's only gym and quite often we get freebies at the gym - like sample sized beauty products. I picked this up on Monday, but then was disappointed to find its anti-dandruff shampoo.

I spent some of the vouchers Rich's Mum and Dad gave me for my birthday and bought a new blue lace dress at lunchtime on Monday.



This week I got another avon haul - including LOTS of freebies. I also just ordered the cookie cutters to make this cookie Christmas tree.

This is a photo of me hemming a 1970's frock - so I can wear it to work the next day.

This week I did more stamping - so much more stamping!

It was a very busy week work wise - so one night I just ended up having vegemite on toast for dinner!





Exciting mail day this week - my Mum send Rich's birthday present down to us and also sent me a whole bunch of fabric she has bought recently op-shopping.

I caught up with Emi for a drink on Thursday night at Mulberry Garden - a restaurant near our apartment.

I worn this creepy girl necklace to work on Friday - I bought it from the Rose Street Markets in Melbourne a couple of years ago.



On Saturday Emi and I went to the Steampunk Exhibition at Thistle Hall - here's a few pictures I took whilst waiting for her.





I helped Emi set up her stall at Mighty Mighty markets on Saturday - here's a few pictures of her stall. I love the jars filled with lollies *rawr*.

Rich and I went to see the the Wellington Phoenix play last night, it was Freezing cold, but at least we won 2-0 (we played Sydney FC).

This ones a bit exciting - these are the approximate dates for my trip to the USA next year! I'm booking my tickets officially tomorrow!



Emi gave me my late birthday presents this week - a cute bento set and a narwhal arigumi that she made especially for me!

I had my hair done this week - hairdressers fell they must always make my hair SUPER straight - I'm not so crazy about it.

Finally today was an absolute stunner of a day - so Rich and I spent much of the day at the waterfront.

A few photos from my weekend

Hello All! I had rather a quiet weekend, but I did take a few pictures of what I got up to, so here is my weekend in pictures.

On Saturday morning my friend Jess came over from Masterton for a bit of a girly pampering morning and we went and had pedicures. I got blue sparkly toes!

Later on we heading to Invinsible Mojo at the bottom of my building, we bought the ticket for this high tea ages ago! Glad we finally had a chance to use it - the high tea was pretty good and not too over the top with the amount of food they served. I also went to Craft 2.0 which was actually in the city this time rather than out at Upper Hutt. It was still insanely busy - so many stalls, so many cool things, I could spend a whole weeks pay quite easily at Craft 2.0, but instead I settled on buying just this one necklace. Very restrained I think - particular as I was very tempted to buy a knitted fox stole with glowing eyes (not very practical for summer - but it had GLOWING eyes! amazing).I also bought this fabric over the weekend which I used to make my next project in my Red Velvet DIY Dress Up Course. I haven't really been doing much on the course over the past little while but I am determined to get back into it. I will post photos of what I made soon - the project was actually super easy, I hadn't done it as I was scared of using my machine to make button holes - lame I know.On Sunday Rich and I went to watch our local football team the Wellington Phoenix - but this time we lost 2-1 to Melbourne Victory - Boo!!Also on Friday Night Rich and I watched the remake of Fright Night - I am a horror geek from WAY back and generally I am NOT a fan of remakes. But this one was pretty awesome - Colin Farrell as a vampire, David Tennant as a Kris Angel type Los Vegas magician and equal parts blood and hilarity. I highly recommend it!

Football World Cup madness!

The whole world seems to be in the grips of world cup madness right now! I'm obviously not at home in New Zealand but I imagine Wellington would have been crazy a couple of nights ago when we drew 1-1 with Slovenia. Things were certainly a little crazy in our little studio apartment and it's only the two of us.

According to my American friends, this means New Zealand won, I'm willing to accept this logic. Especially seen as it was out first world cup goal - ever!

But I'm sure no matter how crazy New Zealand is with football fever it's no match for South Korea. It seems here that people really love their football - Rich and I watched the first South Korea world cup match in a park in Gyeonju last weekend, South Korea won 2-0 to Greece and the crowd went wild. Every goal was followed by wild chants of "Dae Han Min Guk" and dancing.My kids have all gone totally football mad too, well, I should say more football mad than usual. Most of the journal entries I recieve at the moment read like this one.
Finally, there are so many K-pop football themed songs out at the moment, like this one called Kara. K-pop is horrible at the best of times and the World Cup has not provided enough inspiration to create a decent song.
Finally is this little video, it's sponsored by SK Telecom and meant to inspire Korean's to "Dream Again" - I think it's pretty awesome.
