Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge: Long Skirts

So the theme of today's challenge was "long skirts" I think think seriously about wearing my only long skirt to work today, but I knew I had to make a presentation today and I wanted to feel comfortable and look professional (or at least a little professional) when I made the presentation and I just didn't feel a long floaty skirts was going to tick the right boxes - so I wore this wee number instead - but the dress is made by me so I did tick one of the boxes.

I think this dress is perhaps the second dress I ever made, but I haven't worn it for a while. It needed a very minor repair that I NEVER seemed to get around to fixing - however I fixed it up last night and it's good to wear again.

After the presentation today I feel rather sleepy - presentations and answering lots of questions always makes me sleepy! But its totally worth it - in fact I think its the best thing about my job (or maybe I just like being the centre of attention?)

 Outfit Deets:

Dress: Made by Me
Shirt: Dress worn as shirt, from a workmates wardrobe clearance
Belt & Tights: Glassons
Bracelet: Forever 21 (from KL)
Ring: Clothes swap
Necklace: Equipt
Boots: Bought in Korea

I like this dress very much - the way the pattern goes vertical and horizontal and it looks great with pink!

Great dress, well done you! One day I'm going to attempt to get back into sewing.
I'm sleepy too, long day

Cute dress. I love the print. Those boots are great too. I hate doing presentations. Public speaking is pretty much my number one fear so it's funny thinking that other people like doing it.

Fab dress, very smart and sassy! I know what you mean, longer skirts can feel a bit too girly when you want your business head on. x

Hehe, I like the fact that you said about being the centre of attention!! Go girl! And hope your presentation went well.

I don't wear long skirts really - I think I am too short and not bean-pole-like enough! I do like you handmade dress, you must have quite a collection now. Maybe you should do a post with them all together?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress. It's so adorable, and it fits you like a dream. I love how the stripes are horizontal at the bottom- it gives it a special zing. Love it. You're beautiful, girl.

i wish i worked at your office for so many reasons. we'd never get ANY work done and i wouldn't smell like a week old ashtray of death.

also, i went through a long skirt phase when i was 19-20ish. it's all i wore, even in the winter. CANADIAN WINTER. the sacrifices we make to look cute...
