Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge: Modern 50's

Today's Wardrobe Challenge is one of two provided by aspiring tattoo artist CB - Modern 1950s. There was a time when I was really obsessed with anything 1950's - but I have to admit these days I seem to be embracing all kind of vintage, rather than sticking exclusively with one decade.
Our dear - our lounge is far from tidy! Oh well - I guess that's what happens in an apartment which is occupied by two artsy fartsy types.

Some of today's accessories - a doughnut ring and Hello Kitty charm bracelet.
Also a brooch I bought at Craft 2.0 some years ago.
Heart shoes and fluro pink fishnet tights.
Close up of the fabric of the dress.
Hope you folks are all having a lovely week!

OUTFIT DEETS:
Shoes & Scarf - Retro Room, Willis Street, Wellington
Tights - Farmers
Dress - Baby Girl Boutique
Cardi - Op Shopped, Opportunity for Animals
Brooch - Craft 2.0
Ring - Newtown Fair
Bracelet - Hello Kitty Cafe, Hongdae, Seoul

Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge - 1950's

Today's wardrobe challenge was the 1950's - the dress I was planning to wear is a little big and needs to be altered and the other dress I could have possibly worn was still damp from washing. So I didn't end up looking very 1950's at all but I thought I would still share my outfit for the day.The dress is another Kitty Bridges creation - the dress is called Tokyo Cherry and I like it a whole lot. I've worn it in all parts of the world as its flattering and really comfortable as well. I love the pattern and the red trim.
A close up of the fabric of the dress - cherries and little blossoms.

I decided to wear the bloodied heart that Vany made for me in our 13 days of Halloween swap.
This amazing beaded cuff is also made by the amazing Vany in another 13 days of Halloween swap we did - there are four pop art inspired skulls on the cuff. I do love this hair bow and I haven't been wearing hair bows much lately - I'm not sure why, maybe because its winter and I have been wearing hats to work? Now the weather is warmer I think its time to bring back the hair bow.
I must have been making up for the lack of bows in my life in recent times as I wore bow patterned fishnet stockings as well.

Outfit Deets:

Shoes - Cotton On
Tights - I forget :P
Dress - Kitty Bridges
Cardy - Glassons
Necklace & Cuff - Made by Vany
Hair Bow - Received in a craft swap

1950's Craft Swap

Well as you all know I'm rather taken with pretty much all things vintage from the 1950s onwards, so when a 1950s swap appeared on craftster I jumped at the chance to take part. Last week I recieved my package it it was just so AMAZING! Here's what I recieved -

From top to bottom - an adorable wee purse, some sexy lady magnets, a needle book with embriodered swallow and an whole bunch of accessories.

But wait - these is still more - I'm adding a bonus OOTD because I recieved this incredible frock. I love the peacock fabric - its so beautiful.

But wait - I still haven't shown you my favourite part yet. These amazing shoes which my partner hand painted. I wish I had these kind of mad crafting skills *sigh*

I also thought I'd share with you all a couple of things I sent to my partner. I didn't take a photo of the whole stash, but I took photos of the couple of things I was most proud of. Firstly - I made these hand embriodered cards.

But my most favourite thing I sent was this sexy pin-up lady cross-stitch. I posted a picture of her earlier which some people may remeber. But here's the finished article.

1950's Swap!

Another break from the epic colletion of Sydney pictures! Only one more of those posts to go - phew! They take a lot of time.

I just wanted to share this sneak peak with all of you - I recently signed up for a 1950's swap on craftster. I've decided to share the early stages of one on my projects for the swap. Even if my partner sees this post I think it will be ok as this sexy lady is going to change so much before she is finished.

I really love the way this photo worked out - I love the way the light is falling.

In other news, I bought a brand new sewing machine! It hasn't arrived yet as its from a one day specials website. I can't wait until it arrives.

Have a great weekend all xoxox

1950's Photoshoot

A couple of weekends ago Rich and I took part in a 1950's photoshoot for our friend Nat's photography club. There were suppose to be a lot more models there but seen as it was the weekend just after the Christchurch earthquake people had other things on their minds. The only other model was our friend Alice.

I'm pretty happy with the way the photos turned out- heres a few of them (there were 91 in all!).
