My first blog meet up

In the past I've been luckily enough to meet some of my fabulous blog friends - namely Helga and Chloe but until a few weeks ago I had never attended a bloggers meet up.

So I was kind of excited when my friend Kat asked me to join the Wellington Sewing Bloggers Network and attend their January meet up.

To be honest I was a little nervous, I'm not sure I'm a sewing blogger, I'm really just someone that blogs about stuff I do which sometimes includes sewing.

But I was so glad I went a long as I met a whole bunch of amazing ladies who are all fabulous at sewing so it was kind of inspirational for me seen as I still feel like I'm only just starting out.

We met at the "Colonial Cafe" which is a temporary cafe at Wellington Musuem of City and Sea to celebrate the Queen Coronation. It was nice of the Queen and Price Phillip to stop by to meet us and have a few photos.
Can you tell I'm not much of a royalist? I'm really much more interested in whatever is happening over to the right.
If you want to check out the blogs of these rad ladies (and you really should) then you can find them here:

Ladies in the back row -  Joy, Mel & Kat
Ladies in the front row -  Me (well duh), Jo & Nikki

The next blogger meet up is in March - perhaps I'll even have time to sew something new before then to wear along.

Hope you're all having a good week so far - I'm off to work on my latest cross-stitch project "Hugh Manatee".

Love these photos Trees, and is that your boyfriend's website? The designs are amazing, I love the Flaming Lips one and the Spanish one, if I successfully complete my tapestry from the charity shop I would like to try one of those. xx

I relate to how you feel about being someone who's "just starting out" and not really fitting the mould of being called a "sewing blogger", too. (For me, I can't call myself an "expat blogger", because, even though I am a foreign-expat somewhere, I don't dish out quality information on my blog regarding life as an expat. Also, I am completely new to sewing and just fumbling my way around -- NO WAY am I going to rub shoulders with the experts :D)

BUT THAT's GREAT you met up with the other bloggers!!! Yes, do wear something you've made for the next meet :)

I felt like a complete fraud as well! I'm pretty sure my sporadic posts are only read by friends out of politeness. But then I figured Hey, I get to hang with awesome people so I'll embrace the label even if deep down it feels a bit weird. And you're an awesome people and we loved having you!

That sounds like fun. I think you are a sewing blogger. I mean, you blog and you sew stuff. I think those are the only requirements.

Neither of you are "frauds"! You sew, you blog, and you're awesome. :-)
