Just before Christmas, my friend Grace and I had a stall at the Mighty Mighty markets (it was mostly arranged by Grace - I was lucky enough to turn up with my stuff and nearly everything was already arranged!).
Here's a few photo's of the stall...

The Mountain Goats
Earlier this year Rich and I were suppose to go and see the Mountain Goats at San Fran. However the show was canceled due to one of the band members having health problems - curses!
The show was re-scheduled for December and I was of two minds of whether I should go or not, given the show was in December and I knew it would be a crazy busy time of the year.
However, as the gig drew closer we decided we should go and check it out and see what they were like.
I am SO glad we decided to go - the gig was awesome! It started off as a one man acoustic set with the rest of the band joining in later in the set.
Rich and I have now made our list of "must see" bands for the first few months of next years and there's some good ones coming to Wellington.

Just Good Stuff: 35 hours of Creative Consumables
Last week Rich and I headed along to Thistle Hall to check out "Just Good Stuff: 35 Hours of Creative Consumables" - this was basically a wee market put together by a group of crafty artist types.
They had set the market out in an interesting way, namely, setting all the crafty goodness out by price rather than artist. The least expensive things were only $5 and the most expensive over $100.
I made one small purchase for myself from the $5 stand - a super cute little crochet owl which reminds me how much I want to learn to crochet so I can make cute wee creatures like this!

Rubbish!
Last Sunday Rich and I headed to town to check out an art installation that one of Rich's work colleague's had told him about.
Basically all we knew was that it was going to be big, it was for one day only and it was on Stout Street.
When we arrived at the entrance of Stout Street we saw it has been closed off and when we turned the corner we saw this installation - rubbish piled high!

Sunday Morning in the Botanical Gardens
On Sunday morning Rich and I decided to hear into town to check out this random one day only installation piece Rich had heard about from someone at work.
Because it was such a nice day we decided to take the scenic route through the gardens and saw all of the roses in bloom for summer (or is it still spring? I always get a little confused).

End Of Year Derby Party
Timmy Tofu!
Sometimes my friend Fiona will e-mail me Savage Chicken cartoons to brighten up my work day. My favourite character in the cartoons in Timmy Tofu - it just appeals to my warp sense of humour to have a piece of Tofu as a character (but then is talking Tofu really any stranger than a talking chicken?).
Here's a Christmas cartoon featuring the illicit Timmy Tofu!

Early Morning Aro
So to top off a weekend which included a hen's night and a wedding - I got up exceedingly early on Sunday morning (I had to be in the Korokoro at 7:30) to help out with water marshalling at a running race.
Why would I do such a thing? What sort of a sucker for punishment am I? Well it was all in a good cause - not surprisingly that cause was derby. We got paid to do the marshalling and all the funds went towards the derby team.
I decided when I was walking to get my ride that I may as well take some photo's of an early morning in the Aro Valley - seen as it's not often that I see it so quiet.
Also the view from where I was stationed in Korokoro wasn't too awful - but it was awfully hot and people did keep asking how much further it was to run and I had no idea. I think next time I will have to ask the organisers more questions.

Ange & Paul's Wedding
A couple of weekends ago, I was invited to my friend Ange's wedding, unfortunately since then with the Christmas season and all it's been hard to find time to blog. But finally here are the photo's!
The wedding was held at St Mary's of the Angels and then the reception was held at the Boat House on the Waterfront which meant plenty of amazing views of Wellington.
