12 Days of Christmas Swop 2013

Last year I took part in a Christmas Swop organised by two pretty amazing bloggers I know - Chloe at An Exercise in Trivial Pursuits and Juanita and Juanita Tortilla. I've met these two lovely ladies through the wonderful world of blogging and I have been lucky enough to meet BOTH of them in real life too!

Spending the day with Juanita in New York City - we went fabric shopping (of course) and visited the MET.

I will be honest with you guys - when it comes to Christmas I can be a grinch. Seriously. All the commercialism gets me down. Don't get me wrong - two weeks off work at Christmas is amazing. But I hate Christmas carols and I will never understand why we continue with all these ice themed decorations when its summer during Christmas time in New Zealand.

However, doing the Christmas swap last year did make me less grinch like - so I decided to take part again.

Yesterday my package arrived from Jamile in California. 

In case you were wondering - that IS Hello Kitty ribbon. Jamile obviously did her home work in regard to what I like. 

The official 12 days of Christmas countdown starts on Saturday. I am HOPING that before then the post office will come through and deliver MY package to my swap partner in Chicago.

12 days of Christmas Swop - Days 9 to 12

So its already Christmas Eve evening and Rich and I are mostly ready for Christmas so I decided to take some time out for blogging and let you know all the other goodies I received in the 12 days of Christmas Swop.

DAY NINE

For day nine I received some peppermint bark and some peppermint hot chocolate - unfortunately I don't have a picture as my camera is acting pretty crazy lately. I took a photo but when I checked back later there was no image in the camera. I'm hoping I only need a new memory card and not a new camera.

DAY TEN

My Day ten package was some lovely hair accessories - I'm not sure my hair is quite long enough to use the spin pins yet. However, I am in the process of growing it out so hopefully soon I will be able to use them.

DAY ELEVEN

Here's the package from day eleven - the note card attached says "There is a learning curve to stripes. Practice with the little ones first".

Inside was a pack of salon effects strips and a pad of Christmas post-it notes. I've used the post-it notes as labels on some Christmas presents.

DAY TWELVE

The final day of the swop included a fabulous little clutch purse - I love the colour.

That's all from the 12 days of Christmas 2012 - a big thanks to Chloe and Juanita for organising this swap and also to my lovely swap partner Allison for all my Christmas goodies. Doing this swop kind of helped to keep my Grinch tendencies at bay - it Chloe and Juanita run it again in 2013 I will take part for sure!

12 Day of Christmas Swop: Day Three

I'm not normally a person who really gets into the whole "Christmas" thing - but I have to admit doing the 12 days of Christmas Swop is really lifting my Christmas Spirit.

Here was today's present from Allison - its the best smelling hand and body lotion in the world. The scent is pomegranate citrus - its so good!

Sorry but I must keen it short and sweet - I hope you're all having a great week and hurrah I only have one and a half weeks of work left in 2012!

12 days of Christmas Swop

Hello World! I've been a bit absent this week - too many things I'm happening I'm afraid. I just wanted to do a quick post about a Christmas swap I just joined.

I know, I know - the thought of Christmas IS slightly terrifying - but there is no denying that its on its way. So we may as well celebrate in style.

If you've been following my blog for a while you will remeber my lovely friend Chloe from Singapore.

Here we are - hanging out in Sentosa Island in Singapore at the start of this year - good times (I want to go back!)

Chloe and her friend Juanita have decided to run a 12 day of Christmas Swap (or swop) and seem as I do a 13 days of Halloween swap every year I thought I may as well take part in this more "traditional" swap too.

Plus I like presents and if you do this swap you get TWELVE presents - fancy.

Open to all international friends with a blog.
- Swop partners will be announced on 11.November.
- Swop packages must contain 12 individually wrapped items, free from culturally offensive, dangerous or illegal material.
- Total value of package is at least $25 USD, excluding postage.
- Make a new friend! Get to know your swop partner via blog and email.
- Mail out swop package by 17.November, Saturday.
- By December, receive a swop package from your partner!
- Open 1 item a day!
- Blog about all the fun you've had with this 12-day swop!
