Winters Morning on the waterfront

I've been thinking for some time that 2014 just isn't my year at all and as we are now half way through the year I'm convinced. It's seems to be a year of never ending bad luck.

Nearly a week later I'm still feeling pretty terrible with my cold/flu/whatever - I went to the doctor and was given  the really great diagnosis of it "cold be viral or it could be infection" obviously $43 dollars well spent.

I've also been having no end of trouble with my new passport, which I've been trying to organise whilst generally feeling terrible. I decided I would try and apply for my new passport online. However,  the photos I uploaded, which were taken by the post office were rejected not once but twice due to my "wispy hair" being detected as "shadows" by the software. I've now been told by the passport office to apply for the passport in paper as its "just easier". Hopefully I am still going on holiday on the 26th of the month.

Anyways on Saturday morning Rich and I both we awake early so we decided to go for a walk on the waterfront. These photos pretty much reflect my mood right now.

Hopefully the next week will be better for me - who knows, maybe my new passport with finally turn up.

Last Tuesday

It snowed again last Tuesday night, but it's suppose to be spring, at least everything looks pretty when it snows. I like it.

A day for visiting parks

I have been a little frustrated with the Korean winter lately (thankfully it's drawing to an end and spring is on it's way) as it's so hard to feel inspired to go outside and take a walk as it's just SO DARN COLD! But last week we really needed to get out and about so we had some vegan lunch at Loving Hutt and then headed over to Seoul Children's Park. It was freezing cold and a bit sad looking, but it was good to be outside and I am sure it will be so beautiful when the trees start to bloom. Plus we got to take photo's of lots of cute cartoon characters - I even got my photo taken with a guy with poo on his head?



After Seoul Children's Park we decided to visit Olympic Park as we had read that it was an amazing sculpture park - this is true - but it was SERIOUSLY cold by this stage. I really want to head back again in the spring to appreciate the sculptures a little bit more and the park in general.



In Olympic Park is a very cool art gallery called "Soma" and they had the most incredible exhibition on featuring Robot's - it was called "I, Robot" there was some truly amazing work there including work by Nam June Paik. It's so strange a few weeks ago I didn't even know who Nam June Paik was and now I see his art everywhere which is fantastic as I really love his work.

Be careful what you wish for....

Before I lived in Korea I was very excited by the prospect of a Korean winter for one simple reason - snow! Well a few weeks back all my wishes for snow were fufilled by some very heavy snow. I thought it was a blizzard, but some of my american friends from places where it snows a lot told me it was not a blizzard at all, not even close. But in the eyes of a Kiwi girl this is most certainly a blizzard - it was like walking to work in a snow globe - it's cold but it's so pretty.
