Spring fun times!

Spring has arrived and is acting in its usual erratic way - beautiful sunshine one day and then cold, rain and storms the next. But the beautiful days make putting up with the miserable ones worth it, last Sunday was one of the beautiful days so Rich and I decided to take the chance to see the tulips in the botanical gardens. Here's a view of our wee city from the Botanical Gardens.
The old Dominion Observatory building - which I have always loved.
Some of the flowers in bloom on the way to see the tulips.

When we arrived, some of the tulip beds were already looking a little bit "sad" - the tulip season is so short in Wellington.

I got to go out for a walk without my big jacket and I was SO EXCITED! As much as I love my coat, I am looking forward to not having to wear it EVERY SINGLE DAY!

After our walk in the gardens we went for a stroll in Thorndon - they have a whole lot of lovely old historical buildings. Its such a nice part of the city, but we rarely visit here.

I hope you've all been having a fabulous weekend - more sunshine here today in Wellington! (even if it was cold). I've had a busy day visiting friends and Rich and I are off to the movies tonight with our friend Matt to see Mr. Pip - I can't wait!
