2014 Review - Stuff I made and did

Happy 2015 all! We had a lot of dramas around our new years this year - the worst of these being the holiday home owners cancelling our New Years holiday booking in the first week on December! Which meant, we couldn't go to Raglan as planned as it was impossible to book another place so close to New Years. But we still had a fun New Years eve in Auckland eating Korean food, singing Karaoke and watching the sky tower fireworks.

2014 wasn't a great year for me - I don't see any reason to sugar coat it. I feel like some blogs are like "everything is awesome all the time and my life is ALWAYS AMAZING!". I try to be a positive person, but 2014 was a long, hard year and I am SO GLAD its over. 2015 just HAS to be better.

To be honest, I kind of wondered if I wanted to do a year in review at all this year or if I wanted to be "See you in HELL 2014!" - but I decided that the entire year can't have been crap and decided to look back on some of the good times.

MARCH 2014
APRIL 2014
  •  Took part in a "sewing double" challenge and made two skirts for my niece and a dressing gown for my nephew
MAY 2014
  •  I took part in a Dr Who swap and made up a couple of Rich's cross-stitch designs
JUNE 2014
  •  I made my "Vix" dress - which is one of my all time favourite dresses
JULY 2014
  • I shared my 10 Riggit dress AKA The only vintage item I ever found in South East Asia that fit me!

October 2014
  • We visited Hawera for my Mum's 60th birthday
  •  I made another Moneta dress from some fabric that had been lurking in my stash for a while

You see, when you put it all together like that, there was a lot to enjoy about 2014, alongside the tough stuff. Hope 2015 is a great year for you! xxx

You did lots of sewing and crafting last year, and I can't believe it has been a year ago. And holidays and little trip outs, too! Not so crappy, from the looks of it, in terms of blogging ;)

You're not the only one who is glad to see the back of 2014 (until now I felt like the only one), and it's not surprising with what you've been through. I hope 2015 is a lot brighter for you and your family. You had some amazing adventures and made lots of cool stuff, though, and reading about it all was really fun! Happy 2015! xx

WOW - what a year full of friends and trips and fabric. You are really amazing for documenting all this, even when it was tough.
