Homemakin' : Week three

Some of my regular blog friends may have realised by now if I don't blog for around a week then its more than likely I'm off traveling somewhere (I would of course tell you I was going away on a trip) or that something has gone a wee bit wrong in the world of Trees.

Whilst I usually try to keep my blog all positive and full of frivolity - sometimes life simply punches you in the face and it's a bad time.

This had been the case for me over the last week or so and its why I'm behind with my blog reading and blogging.

You see my endometriosis decided to kick things up a notch over the past week and I was really in quite a lot of pain - to the extent all I could do was work and then come home and rest/watch movies/cross-stitch.
It was a horrible and very worrying time for me, I've been really sick in the past and its got to the stage when I've not even been able to work a full week (there was a period of time I could only work a four day week - it was terrible). and I REALLY don't want to go back there. I am hoping that its all just a "blip" and that my crazy Christmas diet/lack of exercise made my body go a little bit crazy.

To add to what was already a pretty horrible week, on Saturday Rich and I went for a we walk in town and when I came home I had the worse migraine EVER. I do occasionally get migraines, but I haven't had one like this for literally years and years. It was horrible!

Anyways that is a wee explanation of my absence, 2013 has not been a kind year to me so far - here's hoping things can ONLY get better from here. Today is Wellington Anniversary Day, so I have a long weekend and I'm pain free and migraine free and friends have invited us to a barbeque today - so things are looking up right?

Despite all the general crappiness of the last week or so I did still manage to do something to the house this weekend. Although given the circumstances it was only a very minor revamp!

I received this painting from my parents for Christmas not this year, but the year before and ever since its been sitting on the desk in my sewing corner. Whilst I guess its ok sitting on the sewing table - a painting should REALLY be hung on the wall right?
The painting is now hanging in my sewing corner - note I need to do a lot more work to my sewing corner to get it organised. I think I really need to pick up a cheap bookcase or storage unit somewhere to put all of my things on. That's going to be a weekend project - sometime soon it will be completed.
This is where the sewing magic happens - hard to believe I know - given the general chaos of the place!

Hope you guys have had a much better week than I have xoxox

Oh I'm sorry you've had such a crappy week. I had a doozer as well with my heart condition playing up & making it harder then usual to be upright as it can't pump the blood around my body efficiently. That on top of trolls made it a week I'd rather forget. It's so hard when you have to deal with the endometriosis all of the time. I hope you have a much better week ahead. Only one week now till we're on holidays which I'm sure will do me the world of good. Sending lots of love to you. Xx

Ooo ! I love this glimpse into your home. That cupcake painting is lovely! I'll have to think of something to send you - maybe I'll do a mini zombie girl for you. :-) Feel better soon, my darling Trees.

I'm sorry to hear you've felt so ill this week Trees, I hope you feel a lot better now. I used to get killer migraines a lot and still get them occasionally so I know how bad they are. Your sewing corner is lovely and I wouldn't call it messy at all! I love your mum and dad's picture hanging up there and your notice board too. Hope it's onwards and upwards for you this week Trees. xx

Oh dear, I am so sorry you have had a crappy week. You are such a busy, enthusiastic kind of person, it must be awful when pain stops you in your tracks and you can't do the things you want to. I hope you feel much better soon.
Your sewing corner doesn't look bad to me, but I suspect you would really like it to be organised, partly as a functional thing but partly because it would make a cool display too. Love the cupcakes which finally made it onto a wall!
Take care, love. xxxx

Ah honey this makes me sad knowing you have so much pain at times and there is nothing worse than when the pain interferes with life. I had some bad fibroids for almost 5 years, I was in constant discomfort and severely enimic. After getting my uterus removed I have never felt better, my life becomes finally again. You do what you have to to feel better. I like your sewing area fill it with more od what you love, it will inspire you!
