I've been inspired to make stuff again - its mostly been bought on by Me Made May! Last night I finished sewing up a new dress, and its got a bird on it! Actually its got a WHOLE lot of birds on it!
This dress is a super simple dress - the "Too Cute Tunic Dress" cinched at the waist with a belt. The pattern is from
Sew La Tea Do.
My new dress has pockets - obviously, because pockets are awesome! Unfortunately these photos are not the best quality as its now dark when I get home from work.
These are my favourite tights right now - I'm not even sure what colour they are? But I like them a whole lot!
Here's a close up of all those birds, I bought this fabric from the Arthur Toye closing down sale - I really miss Arthur Toye!
The name for the dress was inspired by Portlandia - if you have no idea what Portlandia is this should clear things up.

Yay for super simple dress patterns - I especially like the sleeve length. I love the tights - I think the colour is magenta or maybe cerise? No matter, they look really awesome with the dress.
The frock is great, love the print - see, the mojo has returned! And I'd call those tights fuchsia, but the fashionistas might say they are radiant orchid, colour of the year (apparently!) Get you, on trend, Mrs! xxx

It's funny you mention putting a bird on it - when I worked in a consignment store I made Portlandia signs that said 'put a bird on it' and anything that came in with birds I would stick a sign on. :-P Love that gag.

I would call those tights magenta, maybe? I'm not sure too.

I love the neckline on you, such a fab frock Trees!! The Portlandia clip is fantastic. Whenever I see that program it makes me want to stab Etsy in the eye with sharp needles, but then I get lured back to look at all the pretties.
