I made this dress in a few hours, the pattern is Maudella 5619, which is a pattern I recieved from our lovely and generous Vix. I had never heard of "Maudella" patterns before I got my hands on this particular pattern, so I looked the company up on the vintage pattern wiki -
"The Maudella Patterns Company was founded by Maude Helena Dunsford in West Yorkshire in 1937. These patterns presented basic style garnments and were released until the 1980s"
I couldn't find much more about this particular pattern but I have to say as someone who still considers themselves to be a novice sewist this pattern was incredibly easy to use and I think I will try and hunt out a few other Maudella patterns.
I made the pattern out of some "mod" looking jersey fabric I had in my stash - I guess I thought it would be a good choice for a 1960's style dress. Rich said the fabric reminds him of stained glass. I think I will try and make another one of these dresses for our upcoming Wellington Sewing Bloggers meet up as it was so fun and simple to make (plus I have more jersey fabric in my stash not doing very much at all).
Whilst I'm here I want to share my latest So Pauve package of awesome - the Easter edition!
As you all know - I can never get enough Hello Kitty - this time around Alicia sent me an Easter card (complete with stickers), cookie dough lollies, a notebook and a Hello Kitty egg decorating kit! So much fun! Look out for a Hello Kitty Easter Egg decorating post very soon.
I hope you have all have a lovely weekend xoxox
