The final part of my epic birthday week was a weekend spent in Auckland with Rich and some of my oldest and best friends Conor and Sue!
First up - for those who haven't seen it before, here's Gollem at the Wellington Airport.
Auckland by night!
On Friday night we went to check out Suspiria being screened at the Civic with the Italian Prog Rock band playing the soundtrack live - it was amazing! It was the first time I had ever been to the Civic, but I loved it - such a beautiful cinema.
The next morning Rich and I picked up a few things for breakfast and ate lunch in the park as it was such a beautiful morning.
We ended up hanging out with Conor and Sue for the day, shopping and hanging out and because it was my birthday we even went to the Hello Kitty Cafe for lunch *squee* This is the THIRD Hello Kitty Cafe I have been too and it was so much fun to check out another Hello Kitty Cafe. One of the guys that was working there thought my glasses and my fox brooch were really rad - who and I to argue?
We went to check out another movie of Saturday night and Rich and I took a walk with Rich's sister on Sunday Morning - another beautiful day in Auckland.
Finally we finished up with Brunch and it was delicious!
That's a brief look of my weekend in Auckland - whilst I could never live in Auckland I do love visiting, I can't wait to head back and catch up with my friends again!

Oh my sparkles!! I need to go there!
I love the idea of Birthday Week!
I turn 30 this ear so I think I may just steal that idea!
Looks like you had a wonderful Birthday Week! :)
Auckland looks amazing - I hope you had a fabulous birthday week. Hello Kitty cafe is so cute - not sure that my family would want to go in one tho! Hope you are having a great Friday.
I love all your photo heavy adventure posts, so much fun - And trust you to find a Hello Kitty cafe in NZ! :D
You've had such a cool birthday celebration and Auckland looks brilliant.
Love that photo of you and Rich and I think most of us appreciate the not fitting in sign! xxx
Auckland looks a lot of fun! The Civic cinema looks beautiful, love all the street art, the blue skies, and the "don't try and fit in" sign! Sounds as though you had a fabulous weekend, lots to do, great food, and lovely company - perfect! xxxxx
Definitely an epic birthday celebration :)
Why do you say that you could never live in Auckland?
I also think your glasses are rad!
You always find such great stuff to do Trees, there's so much to look at in your posts, I loved the paing of the mermaid on the corrugated container, and the don't try to fit in sign, and all the cuteness in the Hello Kitty cafe. Thank you for your kind words about Jordie, I agree, pets really are part of the family as much as we are, and they leave a big gap behind them. xx
I am so in awe of all the adventures you have! I don't explore the city (ies) half as much as you do, you're amazing. This adventure does look like fun too.
it looks so cool in auckland!i've been to ZERO hello kitty cafes and i think that's a problem for me!
eye patch mermaid graffiti!
