This weekend we had one stunning, beautiful day and one wet and miserable day. Perhaps a sign spring is on the way? I really hope so - the weather is pretty mild at the moment.
Here's a photo I took on Cuba Street on Saturday morning walking to my friend Alice's apartment - clear skies on a sunny day.
I was walking to Alice's so that we could attend the Mount Victoria Peaks market where Emi was having her first stall - selling baking, sewing and adorable crochet things.
I loved the tiny penguin Emi made and also the bat is really cute - Emi said she will make me a narwhal which I am pretty excited about!
Here's a couple of photos of some of the other stalls at the market - it was a really cute little market held in a local community mall. It had such a relaxed and friendly vibe, this particular market is held once a month and I think I will go back again for sure.
On Sunday the weather took a turn for the worse and it rained and rained and rained some more - but Rich and I didn't let that dampen our spirits (well - not too much anyway) and decided we could still go for a walk along the waterfront.
When the rain got a little bit too much we decided to spend a few hours in Te Papa to visit the beautiful Kahu Ora, Living Cloaks exhibition which was absolutely amazing and the cloaks were so beautiful. Although I was really amazed at the number of birds required to make some of the cloaks (many are woven with bird feathers) and I also amazing to see the old kuri (Maori for dog) cloaks made from the Pacific kuri (a type of dog that's now extinct). If you live in Wellington or you're planning on visiting any time soon - I could recommend this exhibition enough.
What did you all get up to at the weekend - did you have sunshine or rain?

Cute little crafty show. I love that no matter the weather you are out exploring!
The crafts available look way cooler than the stuff we see in the Uk! Those crochet beasties are too cute! The Living Cloak exhibition looks so interesting. x
It seems like it's been raining across the whole of NZ the last few days. I love all the crochet animals. So cute.
Oh the wee crochet critters are too cute. I so would have purchased one to take home.
The weather here is a poo at the moment, so much rain.
The exhibition is on the list of to dos if we get there in time.
Thanks for recommending it.
Love v
