As it turns out, today Air New Zealand was having a sale on Trans Tasman flights (for two days only!) with $150 off all flights to Australia. I just couldn't resist!
Some come September I shall jetting over to Melbourne - I can't wait!
Here's a few photos of my 2008 visit to Melbourne - its such an amazing city. I love it!
I may soon have to admit that I am a bit of a travel junkie - there are worse vices to have though!

My partner made me a pretty awesome jar - filled with a whole bunch of things I love - cupcakes, Kuromi, skulls, Hello Kitty. Here's my stash.
First of all this cute cupcake postcard - I like cupcakes a whole bunch and this one is super sweet. First up, I recieved a wee mummy lego man. I think I might try my hand at turning him into a necklace of some type. Not quite sure how to do it yet though.
Finally heres the jar itself - complete with Hello Kitty and Kuromi.

My hair is kind of long and out of control right now - but I am going to the hairdresser on Saturday and getting new extensions. Yah!

A very LONG time ago I cutomised a My Little Pony just for fun and Taylor (the brother girlfriend) saw it on my blog and thought it was pretty cool.
I thought why not customise a punk rock pony for her. This time I didn't start out with an "authentic" my little pony - but I did manage to pick up something very simmilar from an asian import store in town.
This may sounds strange - but when I bought the pony it already had a mohawk rather than a mane. It was destined to rock out.
Heres the pony post makeover! Black eyeliner, piercings and loads of jewellery. Her mohawk is also more defined and has even more glitter.
Rock out little pony!

I did get out and about a bit yesterday though, I went over the Newtown to attend Fabric-a-Brac which is a craft supply fair that occurs a couple of times a year. Much to my surprise I didn't actually buy anything! There were a few things I could have bought, but I still don't have a sewing machine and I don't want to buy one until Rich and I leave this wee serviced apartment for a real flat that has more space. At the moment we live in a small space and the table we have is glass topped so I don't think it would be a very good place for a sewing machine. Soon we will have a better flat and then I can finally have a machine and complete sewing projects beyond simple hand sewing.
I met my friend Ria at Fabric-a-Brac and she did buy some amazing stuff, which you can check out here.
My friend Kat also went along and even volunteered on the Wellington Hospice table (although she had already left by the time I arrived) and you can see her finds here.
After Fabric-a-Brac, Ria and I had a bit of a look around Newtown, I was meeting Rich at 2:15 so we could look at a potential flat (the flat turned out to be damp and cold - like so many others in Wellington).
We paid a visit to Juniper in Newtown, I hadn't been there for a while but its a very cute little shop - full of lovely little handmade things.
When we were there we signed up for there next "lucky dip" craft evening - I have had friends that have done one of these nights before and not really enjoyed it, but I was checking out the Juniper blog and when I saw what they made on the last lucky dip craft night I thought it was kind of cute. I think I will try it out for myself at least once and see how it goes.
Also whilst we were at Juniper we bought some cookie dough fudge - it was pretty amazing. Luckily there were only three pieces in a packet!
We decided to walk home on Newtown and on the way we did see some pretty rad street art. I do love good street art.Last night we stayed in and watched Scott Pilgrim vs The World and I enjoyed every geeky moment of it.
Speaking of geeky - I started this wee project last night and finished it up this morning. My cell phone now has a home of its very own.
I wish I could say its a phone cosy of my own design, but I bought it as a kit from Iko Iko. But the kit is made by a New Zealand company called Fix.
Today has been a quiet today - we went for a walk, I baked cupcakes, did some crafting, reading and tried in vain to teach myself to crochet. But I will keep on trying! If anyone out there has any tips for learning to crochet I would love to hear them.
I do have one more exciting piece of news though - I am going to PHUKET!! My cousin Mel and her fiance Pake are getting married there in January 2012. Rich won't be able to come with my due to his study commitments. But I am still looking forward to the trip, I have never been to Thailand before and today I found this site 10 things to do in Phuket and I am feeling inspired!

But I do have a pink, purple and blue dress that I bought from The Fringe markets for about $10 one weekend. Here's the fabric.
Next - here's the dress (with me in it of course!). Its a shirt dress - although its hard to tell under the cardy.
The photo this week is taken by my friend Kat outside Meow Cafe where we have Crafty Foxes, our craft group every second Wednesday. I think the graffiti behind me is pretty rad. I love street art.
Kat and I have decided to do our outfit photos together each Wednesday - we are hoping that our photos and outfit posts will improve over time.
Last time I tried this whole outfit post thing, some more experienced bloggers told me it was a good idea to have some close up shots. So here we go! My "Little Ghost" brooch which is handmade by me, I like this guy a whole lot. I don't make accessories for myself that often - I usually end up making things for others or just giving them away. But I love this guy so much. Here's a photo of Kat and I inside Meow Cafe, where we have craft group, you can see a whole lot of her purple dress and pretty much none of mine - opps! But you do get to see some of our lovely Meow cafe - its delightfully vintage. I like it a lot. Finally - just for fun! Although my slip is showing in this pic - eek!
Dress - Op shopped - Fringe Markets
Belt & Cardy - Glassons
Tights & Slip - Who Knows?
Little Ghost Brooch - Made by me
Black Necklace - Diva
Doc Martins - Bought in South Korea
I would love to hear your thoughts - hopefully these outfit posts will improve each week.
Our Wednesday Wardrobe Challenge for next week is the 1940's - which I have to admit will be a bit of a stretch for my wardrobe. If anyone has any tips for 1940's style I'd love to hear them.

I was pretty annoyed, I have been waiting to go for a day walk forever and every time we plan one - it seems to rain!
Instead we ended up going to Heaven Pizza for lunch which was pretty awesome. I especially loved the pizza oven - it's Tangaroa! Well I think it looks like Tangaroa.
After lunch we decided to head for a walk along the waterfront as the rain had completely disappeared and it was a windy but pretty autumn day.
